Description:
Responsible for retrofit and repair of environmental comfort systems, utilizing knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe fitting, and mechanical layouts.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for servicing product and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.

· Performs repairs, overhauls, and start-ups of commercial HVAC systems.

· Uses a variety of hand tools, following blueprints, wiring diagrams, piping schemes or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.

· Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and product at customer's location.

· Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.

· Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.

· Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.

· Keeps current all manufactures products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.

· Provides technical support to customers.

· Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

Skills Required:

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

· Ability to apply basic mathematical skills.

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Education and/or Experience Required:
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a certificate in HVAC or 5 years apprenticeship; and one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A valid driver's license and EPA Approved Universal Technician Certification is required.

Physical Requirements:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Normal Hours: 8:00-4:30 (some overtime required)

Exempt: Non-Exempt
